Deep in the heart of Spokane lies a stellar cellar! Catacombs Pub combines old-world architecture and international food flair to provide an evening of entertainment. Just like a true underground chamber, the front door leads you down the steps to another world. The setting is unforgettable with its exposed rock walls, massive solid oak beams and the warmth of the brick hearth. Reminiscent of fine Viennese pubs the ambiance is complete with wall-hung tapestries, lofty ceilings, secluded dining coves and the warm glow of winter fires in the large brick fireplace.

Gather a group of friends and enjoy the “Cave” seating nook on the pub’s east side. This used to be a coal chute! In another life, the pub was the boiler room for the above Montvale Hotel. The Montvale itself has been newly refurbished to become one of Spokane’s quaint boutique hotels.

The food reflects the cuisine styles from the Central Europe countries of Austria, Germany, Hungary and Italy. House specialties are the fresh, homemade, thin crust pizzas with a variety of gourmet toppings. Also on the menu are such international favorites as Hungarian Goulash, Chicken Paprikash, Fettuccine and Three Meat Guinness Irish Stew. Hot Bavarian Potato Salad, Cheese Plates and Tapas provide some interesting sides.

Save room for the fun deserts! Lick your lips over the rich Catacombs Chocolate Calzone, to eat alone or big enough to share. For those who like entertainment with desert, try your hand at the Catacomb S”mores. Rich chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers are served with a tabletop cast iron roaster. You do the toasting!

Beers are on tap or bottled and there is a nice selection of NW wines. Specialty drinks round out the offerings. Live music happens on weekend nights and a Happy Hour is featured Monday through Saturday 4pm - 6pm and all day Sunday. Take a Sunday break and catch up on some marshmallow roasting!
