“Meet you at The Goat”, has become a Spokane rally call for friends who want to get together over beer, pizza and good conversation. Make that… people who want to get together over great beer and artisan style pizzas in a fun pub place!

The Flying Goat has become the local neighborhood place to gather and even draws devoted patrons from other neighborhoods miles away! Some come for the artisan style pizzas with their note-worthy slightly charred, slightly crispy crust and unusual toppings and others come for the ample selection of draft and bottled beers. The pub exclusive brew, the Horned Aviator — a hoppin-heavy pale ale comes from the local Northern Lights Brewery. The Goat also has its own house red wine, “Goat Head Red,” crafted for them by the local winery, Townshend Cellars.

Sandwiches, Goat-style, feature local names and savory ingredients. From the tasty, roasted chicken breast in the Garland Chicken and the artisan ham in the Euclid Ham Sandwich to the honey apple BBQ pulled pork in the Pine Ct Pork; these sandwiches would be the talk of any pub!

But it’s the Goat pizzas that are really the rage! Not one is toped with goat itself (sacrilege!!) but instead with many top quality and unusual ingredients. The charred, chewy crust from the kitchen wood oven is unique and tantalizing. Don’t expect the “normal” pizza here!

The atmosphere is totally fun pub style. The handsome selection of recycled wood on the floor, the bar and window frames came from a circa 1910 grain elevator carefully dismantled and transported to pub site from the neighboring town of Ritzville. Arty beer signs mixed in with some local photos adorn the walls.

Like a hunting party “trophy head” only much more animal and environmentally correct, a metal-and-neon goat’s head over sees the bar.  This iconic pub piece was hand crafted by local artists Sean Smith and Ken Yuhasz.  The outside patio with its large metal fire pit is the local collecting spot in good weather and for pleasant summer evenings.

Service is stellar, fast and friendly. If you can’t stay, don’t worry. There’s a full food menu with beer and wine additions, available for take out.
