The Wizard of Oz wandered down Garland Ave and left his friend the Tinman to be the heart of art in the cute little Garland District just minutes north of downtown Spokane. The Tinman Gallery is indeed a heartfelt art center that strives to encourage and support established and emerging northwest artists.

Locally owned and managed, the Tinman Art Gallery features a new art show every month with an opening reception for the artist. Primarily focusing on paintings, the gallery exhibits the best of the Northwest regional artists and prize-winning Native American artists from the Spokane, Colville, Blackfeet and Arapahoe nation.

A delightful addition to the Tinman is its independent bookstore featuring contemporary literature and one of the largest art book selections in Spokane. An entire section of the bookstore is dedicated to Children’s illustrated storybooks and art books.

Many small art and literature gift items make this gallery a delightful place to select an artful Spokane memoir to take home. The Tinman is also the heart of other creative endeavors ranging from book readings, art events and lectures to hands on classes aimed at developing everyone’s artistic talents!
